This particular treatment uses brackets and wires to realign your teeth, improving your smile and your oral health. Brackets are bonded to the front surfaces of each of your teeth. A wire stretches across your entire arch of teeth, affixed to each bracket with an elastic O-ring called a ligature.
The wires do the bulk of the work, moving your teeth to where they need to go and stabilizing them once they get there. While braces are very effective, they do have some significant disadvantages. First, the metal braces are silver and very visible in your mouth. For many individuals, this can be more embarrassing than crooked teeth. Metal braces can also be uncomfortable. Brackets can rub the soft tissues in your mouth causing sores. Sores can also be caused if the wires break and prod your intraoral tissues.
What Is Invisalign®?Invisalign Treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. No brackets and wires, and none of the restrictions that come with metal braces.
How Invisalign® WorksInstead of brackets and wires, the aligners are created specifically to realign your teeth. You go through several sets of aligners during treatment. Each set is meant to be worn for only two weeks at a time, and every set is slightly different from the one before it. These slight differences help to gradually guide your teeth into proper alignment. Depending upon your situation, you may go through anywhere from 18 to 30 sets of aligners. Once treatment is complete, you are provided with a retainer to maintain your new smile.

 What is the treatment process?Invisalign Treatment starts with a consultation with an Invisalign-trained doctor. Your doctor will evaluate your smile and then map out a precise, customized digital treatment plan that showcases the step-by-step transformation of your smile. Once you approve your plan, your unique aligners will be created. You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks, as directed by your doctor.
